2011 so far...

Already this year is proving to be exciting as we continue in our efforts to support women who are facing unplanned pregnancies and those needing counselling for various issues.  We have heard some wonderful stories of girls whose lives have been changed because of the work Providence Foundation is doing....some of which we hope to share with you very soon.

Latest updates include:

Housing

We are looking to provide housing for young women facing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy who are in need of accommodation.  Our goal is to provide them with a supportive and loving environment and to teach them life skills, help them with their continued education and prepare them for the transition to motherhood.

If you know of someone who needs this type of accommodation, please contact us on theprovidencefoundation@gmail.com or through the Contact Us tab.

Fundraising

To help support and maintain the house and education program, we are asking if you would consider a monthly donation or a one-off donation.  This can be an amount that suits your budget and can be set up online through your bank's direct debit facilities.  We now have DGR status which enables us to issue you with a tax receipt so you will receive up to half of what you donate back in your tax.  Please contact us on theprovidencefoundation@gmail.com or through the Contact Us tab if you would like to help in this way.

Education

The education program is currently being launched in some local schools in Victoria.  We anticipate this program reaching 100s of kids this year between Grades 5-10, and expanding the program into the wider school community as the year progresses.  We have had some great feedback from students and various education staff. A huge thank you to the amazing and talented team who have put this program together, including Liesl, Fiona, Pete and Ash!

Media

The song 'Silent Cry' written by Jud Field and performed by Amy K has been in the top 80 most played songs on radio across Australia for the year!  We have heard many stories of how this powerful song has touched people's lives and encouraged them to reach out for help.  Thank you to Jud, Amy and Anton Bekker of ICU and Wes J of Woodlands Media for their amazing work with this!

Newsletter

A quarterly e-newsletter is distributed providing the latest news in more detail. If you would like to go on our email list, please Contact Us on theprovidencefoundation@gmail.com.
